I am very happy I could buy this Submariner 5513 "meters first". For me it's the best still affordable vintage Rolex that you can buy today. Dial and hands are just perfect and I am crazy in love with the purple bezel insert.
We can assume that the reason for the transition from meters first to feet first was an attempt from Rolex to increase their sales in the US market, a country that had not widely adopted the metric system.
